Pop-Up Tour Stops

Hi y’all,

Two or three of the 2020 tour stops will be “pop-up” stops. The locations of the pop-up stops won’t be announced at the beginning of the tour. Instead, they will likely be announced with three or four weeks notice. The pop-up tour stops will likely involve charitable causes.

I will try to arrange a meet-and-greet with “Lone Star Rider” as one of the 2020 tour pop-up stops. Who is Lone Star Rider? Rex Covington’s road name is Lone Star Rider (best road name ever!). He is a Texas who is riding his motorcycle around the country, pulling a small camper behind his bike, to spread awareness about diabetes and raise funds for a cure. He has a very personal story that lead to his decision to spend a year on the road for this great cause. The video below tells his story. To see where Lone Star Rider is now, be sure to see his web page – http://www.lonestarrider.com.

While the tour starts in 2020, I may schedule a get together later this year for folks interested in riding in the tour. That would give us an opportunity to meet, discuss the tour, and folks could pre-register for the tour in person. The location of the get together could be somewhere in central Texas or the Hill Country. If you would be interested in coming down for a get together this year, please let me at DavidCanada@mcgttx.com. If enough folks respond, I’ll schedule it. If Lone Star Rider is available, I’ll invite him to the get together. The donation site for his Diabetes Ride for a Cure is at this link.

If you have recommendations for one or two more charitable causes (such as charities that support Veterans or First Responders), please let me know at DavidCanada@mcgttx.com.

I’ll be riding around Texas to spread the word about the tour, find more interesting tour stop locations, and looking for potential tour sponsors. Texas is a big state, so your help to spread the word about the tour would be appreciated.

Enjoy your rides and be safe.

Dave
